Description

My first attempt at a travel poster. Quite happy with how it turned out even though I notice bits here and there I could change!

It's clearly not the actual place :)

Woah, I love this one. First of all, I think that colors are very well chosen; the poster is very clear. Also, picturing the Turkmenistan Door to Hell at night is a great idea - it is not as boring as it may have been in the day because the bright sand contrasts with the dark sky. Also, at night one can play a lot with light and shadows, which is a second think noticeable about your artwork. Finally, because of the dark night sky the title is very clear and that's obviously always a good thing when it comes to creating a poster.

Of course, as you suggested, there are some mistakes, but I wouldn't say they're that noticeable. It may be my lack of geographical knowledge but I don't think there are that high mountains in that area. However, you've already pointed out that this is not the actual place, so that's ok I guess. Secondly, I think that scale is a little bit off; I think that those human silhouettes on the top of the mountain should be much smaller (but then again they wouldn't be so clear anymore, so simply shrinking them may not be the actual solution to this problem). On the other hand, the Door to Hell itself seems to be a little bit to small for me. I haven't been there but basing on the photos I've seen in the internet it is rather large.

I didn't know the subgenre of the travel poster before, so thanks for showing me it for the first time. I really love the simplicity of the artwork which seems to be typical for this kind of posters.
I may find something more to add in the future. For now, I must say this is a great piece, especially for your first attempt. Keep up the good work, gentleman! Nod
